Samar Ghattas

Samar Ghattas is a modern visual artist and one of a minority of female Palestinian artists. After receiving her Master’s in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kiev, Ukraine.

She returned to her hometown of Bethlehem, where she is now a lecturer in Fine Arts at the University of Bethlehem. Her works include watercolor paintings, mixed media, ink, iconography, ceramics, and digital media, and she has exhibited in Palestine, Europe, and the United States.

Samar’s main goal is to reflect Palestinian life in all its complexities through her personal experience and point of view. She hopes to continue showing her work in different venues throughout Palestine and the rest of the world.
