|My name is Amber, and I’m a docent and volunteer at the Museum of the Palestinian People. Last week, I joined the Resilience Monthly Club.|
While I’m not Palestinian, I was lucky to live with a Palestinian family in Amman, Jordan. This was the first time I truly learned about Palestine and Palestinian culture and history through its people. After hearing about the Museum of the Palestinian People, I jumped at the chance to support an organization that offers others that same opportunity.
Over the last year, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact of the museum. I guided a Palestinian family around the museum while they FaceTimed their teta (grandmother) in Ramallah, who was tearful to see Palestinian culture celebrated in Washington, DC. I’ve also given countless tours to people who had little to no knowledge about Palestine and Palestinian heritage before stepping into the museum.
These stories remind me why I was drawn to MPP in the first place: The Museum of the Palestinian People brings Palestinian history, art, and culture into people’s hearts.
Over the past 4 months, we have lost significant revenue from ticket sales, donations, and gift shop purchases that normally sustain the museum. But just as the Palestinian people are resilient, so too is the museum. We need you now, more than ever before, to step in.
Join me in sustaining the museum as a Resilience Monthly Club member, so that we can reopen stronger than before.
Resilience Monthly Club members allow us to continue sharing Palestinian culture and history through virtual and in-person tours, live talks, concerts, cooking classes, and online museum exhibitions.
When you join the Resilience Monthly Club by August 31st,
you’ll receive a FREE MPP T-shirt!
