SUMMARY:Ever Present: A Palestine Poetry Slam
DESCRIPTION:Join the Museum of the Palestinian People for a night of gathering\, community\, and power. How can we commemorate a Nakba that is continuing? How can we heal when our wounds have never had a chance to heal? We are not a people of the past. Palestinian life\, land\, memory\, and culture are Ever Present. The Nakba is not a historical event with a beginning and an end. It is a condition that woke up this morning. And so did Palestinian life. Both things\, fully present\, fully alive\, sharing the same air. This is not a night of looking back. It is a night of looking around. A night of being Ever Present. We invite the community to come together\, share their words\, thoughts\, and feelings from the heart in this open mic night. \nLocations: Will have simultaneous speakers and set ups in the Museum and the Book Store.
