Elias Halabi is a freelance photographer and art exhibitor, specialized in Socio-Arts focused photography based out of Bethlehem, Palestine.
Halabi forged a skillful lens for socio-cultural interpretation by securing a B.A. in Sociology/Psychology from Bethlehem University 2002- 2006. In November 2011, Halabi earned a Professional Diploma in “Management and Preservation of Artistic Cultural Heritage in the Near East”, Universita degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale ‘Amedeo Avogadro’- Vercelli/ Italy.
Halabi began to find his signature artistic voice when he realized the language of images and sight were more effective than the limitations of speech. Halabi had a number of Solo and Joint exhibitions in Palestine and Internationally; including, Italy, Poland, Paris, Madrid, Holland, Germany, USA, London and Jordan. Halabi had also the privilege to work with a number of organizations, NGO’s, The Nativity Church, Ministries and consulates.
In 2011, Halabi’s skillful lens gained the attention and award of the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) Vettor Giusti Tourism Award Poster Competition 2011-2013.
As a photographer, Halabi has the responsibility of an ambassador, manifesting the beauty and overlooked richness of his homeland and its wonderful people, as well as showing the burdens and harsh reality that Palestinians go through in their daily life. Capturing and freezing first hand moments and sharing them is his passion, it is the fuel that keeps him motivated, knowing that his photos speaks louder than his words.
Halabi was born in Jerusalem in 1984 and grew up in military occupied, walled in city of Bethlehem, Palestine.
